Requires picking a tile with matching bullnose. But these are durable and don't require a slab person.
Metal edges are available in multiple finishes. This is polished chrome. Advantage is that you don't have to figure out if the tile is available in bullnose or if it is solid body so you can polish the edges nicely. Disadvantage is that curbs can receive a lot of abuse. The metal finishes can scratch in high use areas.
These often require a slab person to fabricate (in addition to the cost of buying a slab). This one was cut out of a half slab from Pius.
I can build you a curbless shower as well. They add some expense. On curbless you have to waterproof into the room. Need to consider the materials that bathroom cabinet is made of(depending on location). Waterproofing up walls outside of shower a little bit is also required. On curbless the glass door has to be anchored within the thickness of the tile itself. It also makes the height critical. So more coordination is required to get the elevations to line up.
